Another step down.

Well first of all, since it’s approximately been another month since my last post, I probably should mention my questions regarding my ISIC card have been answered. It turns out, yes, the dates should be like that. As long as the dates (as in the validity of my card and my birthdate) are right, I shouldn’t have any problems with the fact it doesn’t say my actual school. So my worries were for nothing.

So what’s the new step that’s down? That would be my plane ticket to New Zealand. It looks like I’ll only spend one day in Los Angeles, but that’s alright. One day is a long enough time to break up travel. Not sure where I’ll stay yet. I’m debating between staying at a hostel or hotel (there’s one that’s just a couple miles away from LAX), Couch Surfing, or maybe even stay at a friend’s. The first option of staying at a hostel has the benefit of being close to the airport, which isn’t really near anything else in LA. I’d probably have to book two nights though because my flight to Auckland is around 9:30pm and check out is around noon. I’m not sure if I’d want to spend over nine hours in LAX. This could be fine though because two nights at a hostel would still, generally speaking, be less than a night in a hotel (my most expensive option). Couch Surfing and the friend option would probably be further away from LAX, but it might give me more flexibility as to when I can leave. Also cheaper.

So when am I leaving? I’ll be leaving home on September 22nd mid-afternoon and leaving LA on the evening of September 23rd. This means I’ll arrive in Auckland on the early morning of September 25th local time, but States-side, it’ll still be the 24th. At some point, I’ll get a countdown clock below the current time, which is an addition I made today. I just need to find the right site that’ll do that for me. If you’ve got any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

Oh, and Happy Easter to the Christians reading this.
